Jennifer J. Cain graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She then completed an M.A. in counseling from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. During her education, she focused on child/adolescent counseling and play therapy (non-directive and Adlerian).
Mrs. Cain has worked therapeutically in a variety of settings within the mental health field. These include: an MHMR facility for adults in crisis, a four-year university, a domestic violence shelter for women and children, a residential treatment facility for children/adolescents, and two different child advocacy centers. She has extensive training and experience working with children ages 2 - 12 with a variety of presenting concerns.
Currently, Mrs. Cain is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and also a Supervisor for pre-licensed professionals. She holds a Registered Play Therapist certification and can supervise professionals who are pursuing this certification as well. She provides seminars in the community for parents and mental health professionals. She is an active member in the American Counseling Association, Texas Association for Play Therapy, Association for Play Therapy, and the Montgomery County Association of Business Women.
